About Us
Mission Statement
To promote inclusive, competitive pinball in the Pacific Northwest via a local ranking system, and to offer support to local tournament directors and players in their communities.
Origins
In late 2025, a group of Oregon-based tournament directors came together with the goal of creating a new sanctioning system with our specific community and its needs in mind. From this shared effort, The League of Oregon Pinballers (LOOP) was born. The organization is quickly growing into a full competitive body that sanctions tournaments and maintains player rankings, while keeping its strong focus on community at the center of everything it does.
Leadership
LOOP currently has four committees staffed with volunteers (Governance, Sanctioning, IT, and Communications) designed to oversee various aspects of LOOP’s day-to-day functions in service of our mission statement. LOOP also currently has 7 board members selected by these committees: James Adamson (he/him, COW), Evan Amano (he/him, ARF), Brenna Bechtold (she/her, BRB), Duncan (he/him, XDX), Fieldan Rousseau (they/him, FDT/FMR), Zach Singer (he/him, ZSE), and Ashlee von Buttlar (she/her, AVB).
Structure
LOOP maintains two divisions - an “Open Division” which is open to everyone, and a “Gender Expansive Division” which is open to anyone of a marginalized gender, regardless of presentation or the gender they were assigned at birth. (LOOP’s Gender Expansive Division is aligned with the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s “Statement About Gender” which can be found here: https://resources.wftda.org/membership/diversity-and-inclusion/wftda-statement-about-gender/). Rankings will be maintained and points accumulated over the course of the year will determine eligibility for the Oregon State Championship to be held in early 2027.
Purpose
Competitive pinball offers an engaging and rewarding way for players to connect, build community, and improve their skills. LOOP welcomes participants of all experience levels and backgrounds, and aims to create an inclusive, supportive environment. Experienced players are eager to help newcomers get started in competitive play and, over time, even learn how to host their own tournaments. Please contact board@oregonpinball.org with any questions, comments, or concerns. If you’re a tournament director in Oregon and are interested in learning more about LOOP, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope to see you out at a local LOOP event soon!
